What board do you follow?

We are affiliated to CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education), an international board recognised by all Indian and international universities.

What are the school timings?

Junior kindergarten students are in school from 8:30 am to 12:10 pm whilst senior kindergarten onwards students are in school from 8:30 to 3:15 pm.

Age criteria same as other boards?

Yes, 3.5 years must be completed before the month of May during that particular academic year for Jr. KG enrollment. + 1 year subsequently for each grade.

How does CAIE and GGN approach the curriculum?

Learning is active rather than passive. Our students are trained to think. Learning is not merely about acquiring facts but having the ability to exploit it.

What is your class strength?

We prefer a maximum of 20 students per grade. A low strength provides maximal flexibility where all voices can be heard and more individual attention given.

Are sports given importance?

Absolutely! Sports and other extracurricular activities are an integral part to school education. Cricket pitches, a tournament grade futsal and basketball courts are amongst the facilities we offer.

Transport facilities?

Transport is available provided the location falls within our route. Seats are allocated on a first cum first serve basis.

How many semesters in an academic year?

An academic year consists of two semesters (June – Oct and Nov to March).

When can I interact with the educators?

PTMs are important. During the course of the academic year, we have 4 PTMs. However, as a parent of the school, you can meet educators on a weekday after student dispersal with prior appointment.

Does the school provide lunch?

Warm and nutrition lunch is provided for all students.

Are home tasks really important?

Yes, home tasks are not rote or copy based. They are designed to promote independent thinking, creative expression and kindle or deepen their knowledge through research.

As a parent, how must I support my child?

You must keep track of your child’s performance irrespective of age. Ensure they practice at home and support them however required.

How does the school assess the children?

Assessments are a continuous process and come in different forms, while students have written examinations, other forms of assessment occur through verbal discussions, presentations and assignments. With minimal class strength, every child is given plenty of opportunities to express himself/herself.

Is GGN an inclusive school?

Yes, we collaborate with KARE for students with learning disabilities from Kindergarten to primary school (until grade 5).

What is the school’s take on discipline?

Students are expected to respect elders and their peers. Disciplinary action will be taken if otherwise. Bullying will not be tolerated.

What foreign language is offered by the school?

German is offered. We closely collaborate with Goethe Institute, Chennai who make the recommendations on the curriculum.

Are languages mandatory?

German is compulsory until grade 8 and students are encouraged to appear for the FIT examination conducted by Goethe Institute. A choice between Tamil and Hindi is offered from grade 6 to 8.

What subjects are offered at the IGCSE level?

IGCSE (Grade 9 and 10) is a two-year programme. Whilst English is compulsory, we currently offer all STEM subjects – Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Mathematics. Other subjects will be offered based on demand.

Do you have AS and A levels?

We currently have students in grade 10. Every year, the school is planning to add one grade, up to Grade 12 (A levels) until we become a full-fledged school

Are Cambridge students qualified for NEET and other competitive exams?

Yes, the curriculum is highly aligned. Besides, Cambridge exam style trains students to solve logical MCQ questions from grade 9 onwards. Training to crack competitive exams is essential irrespective of boards.

Are languages mandatory?

German is compulsory until grade 8 and students are encouraged to appear for the FIT examination conducted by Goethe Institute. A choice between Tamil and Hindi is offered from grade 6 to 8.
